H.E Sultan Bin Ali Yousif Al-Khater, Consulate General of Qatar in Hong Kong 

H.E. Sultan Bin Ali Yousif Al- Khater was appointed Consulate General of Qatar for Hong Kong in 2014.  He was confirmed by the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Prior to this he joined the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked at the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2005-2007. H.E. then worked at the embassy of the State of Qatar in London from 2007-2012. 
His education background includes studying Political Science at Eastern University in the USA and he received an MBA at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom. 


Sadiq Hamour
Business Development Director

Sadiq Hamour joined the Qatar Financial Centre in 2014 as Associate Director for Sales and New Business. He was then promoted to Director of Business Development where he leads a department responsible for defining strategies to promote Qat ar and the QFC to local and international firms. In his current capacity, Sadiq plays a key role in helping to grow QFC's business community, support new market entrants and identify potential markets.

Prior to joining the QFC, Sadiq specialised in treasury management for a number of financial institutions and local banks, including QNB, CBQ and Masraf Al Rayan. In these roles, his responsibilities included managing the treasury departments and product development for liquidity and asset management, foreign exchange, money market derivatives and fixed income.

Jahon Burhonov
Head of Professional Services

Jahon joined the QFC in 2015 as Head of Professional Services, Business Development. He is responsible for reaching out to country trade and business promotion offices, Asian firms and associations to establish cooperation, create awareness and promote the QFC platform to companies interested in doing business in and from Qatar.

Prior to joining the QFC, Jahon worked with Bloomberg for over 8 years. He joined Bloomberg as an Islamic Finance and Portfolio specialist in 2007 where he set up and led the core Portfolio and Risk Analytics team in Singapore covering the Asia-Pacific region. In 2010, he relocated to the Bloomberg Middle East office in Dubai and held Sales Manager positions covering Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.

Jahon holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration, a Master's in Economics and is a Certified Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP).

Mohamed Benbouadi
Head of Corporate Solutions

Mohamed has been working in the banking and financial services industry for more than 13 years, mainly in the fields of Business Development, Foreign Exchange and Money Market Trading.

Prior to joining the QFC, he held the position of Director of Sales, Head of Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia at Euroclear Bank in the UAE. He also worked as Head of FX Trading at Credit Agricole Bank, Morocco.

Mohamed holds an MBA in Financial Management from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, USA, and a Master of Finance in Financial Risks Management from Aix-Marseille University, France.

Yousef Fakhroo
Chief Marketing & Corporate Communications Officer

Yousef Fakhroo is the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority’s Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer. Yousef is responsible for QFC’s marketing and communications activities, including image and market development, digital marketing, social media, corporate and financial communications, media relations, brand management and advertising. 

Prior to this position, he was the Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications where he was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all of the QFC’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both externally and internally.

Yousef has considerable experience in representing major Qatari organisations at a strategic level across the communications spectrum. His previous roles include Global Communications Manager at Qatar Petroleum International where he was responsible for conveying the organization's internal and external messaging. He also held key positions at RasGas, Vodafone Qatar and Qatar Foundation.

Yousef holds a Masters in International Marketing Management from the University of Surrey in the UK.

Association of Engineering Professionals in Society (AES)​

The AES intends to strive for greater participation of engineers in public affairs; act as a monitoring body on engineering related issues of interest to the public; lobby for greater representation of engineers in Government advisory and statutory bodies;encourage engineers to participate in direct elections in the Legislative and District Councils;enhance communication with the public and media in engineering related issues and general issues affecting livelihood, and to provide the public with independent engineers' views on issues other than Government's official view.

AES has ca. 1.000 individual members, 30 companies.

The Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) was established in 1960. The objectives of the FHKI are:

to promote and foster the interests of Hong Kong's industrial and business communities;
to promote trade, investment, technological advancement, manpower development, and business opportunities in Hong Kong;
to represent business's views and advise the government on policies and legislation which affect business
